The Game' s Base Story
The game of Subnautica takes place on the planet of 4546B, where the ship you were on was shot down by an unknow entity. The ship and life pods crashed on a volcanic crater surrounded by expansive nothingness on all sides. As the lone survivor of the crash, it is up to you to discover what caused the crash and make it out alive, if only it were that simple. As you progress through the game, you come to realize that there is an infection that is ravaging the planet and at this point you are included in that assumption. This disease will later be known as the Kharaa Bacterium and planet 4546B is currently under quarantine because of it. You will have to fight through dangerous waters as you progress deeper under the surface, all the while discovering many secrets left behind by those before you. Can you discover a cure the disease while dealing with telekinetic messages, robotic quarantine enforcement units, and many other dangers that luck below the surface?
